Your Securavan Security system can also protect generators, fridges, gas bottles storage boxes or any other items you want to include. Connected to the hub the Tilt Switch can be set to activate your alerts with a movement of 5 degrees. The 5 degrees is determined by the initial placement of the switch. For example if you placed it upside down and pointing to 1 o'clock, that becomes zero and 5 degrees from that will trigger motion detection. The switch can be at any angle and any way up. The tilt switch is an adaption of the Door Protect switch and can also be used to protect entry from any window, door or vent etc. In fact Tradies could use it to protect their tools on their Ute if it is parked up near their hub, but that's a whole new story I will expand on later. The Tit switch is not waterproof however it is simple to overcome. We have a waterproof case that will prevent rain getting into the switch and it makes it easier to place it on your equipment. We recommend you put some Velcro tape on the waterproof box and also on the generator or fridge in a reasonably concealed area. It could be at the rear of the unit for example.
The Tilt switch is one of those items that has several applications, it feels a bit like a " but wait there's more" type of item. The switch can work on tilt, separation as in a door or a window, the two parts separate by 3 cm and the alarm is sent. But it can also work on shock and vibration. It could alert when something is shaken, or a sudden movement or broken glass. It really is an amazing little protection device. I am sure we will discover some more practical uses for the Securavan Tilt Switch as we get feedback from our customers.
