Summary of what each component does.
Each component will trigger an alert. An alert results in:
Receive an alert notification with a description of what has happened.
Will activate programmed response to the siren and flashing light on the outside of the van. This can be LED light only, Siren only or Light and Siren. We usually recommend Light Only. You can press manually through your phone to set the siren of at any time.
All components except the Hub are powered with Lithium Batteries with a life span of up to 7 years.
Hub 2 Plus:
This is the brain of the system. The only piece that requires connection to power. We install a 12 volt converter chip into the hub before sending the kits out. It draws a tiny amount of power. All components are paired with the hub and will work at a distance of 1500 metres from the hub. The hub communicates via Wi-Fi and sim cards and will automatically toggle between them to pick up a signal. The hub stores information but to receive alerts and images you must have Sim Card / Mobile Phone signal or Wi-Fi. Comes in black and white. Connecting into 12 volt power can be via a normal plug or hard wired.
Outdoor Motion Detect Camera
Mounted on the exterior of the caravan close to the entry door or middle of the caravan. The motion detect function will pick up human movement only when installed as per the instructions. It works on infrared and thermal detection with 2 beams working in sync. The beams must provide correct body temperature and height readings to allow an alert to be sent. The camera has a hood to protect form rain and will withstand all weather conditions from ice to 55 degrees Celsius. Rated at IP 55. The detection range is set to 3 meters and can easily be increased if required. The unit can be removed quickly and easily by removing the security screw on the bottom and a light press in and up removes the camera ready for travel. Whilst we have tested the Camera mounted during travel it is advisable to move it and all units before extensive travel.
When movement is detected an alert will be sent to your phone in .15 seconds via the app. Within 5 seconds you will receive the images it has taken and can then take more real time images as desired.
The camera can not be masked with cloth, paint or any obstruction without activating an alert.
Indoor Motion Detect Camera
All the features as per the Outdoor unit except slightly smaller, is not weather proof and does not have a security screw in the bottom of the unit as it is not necessary.
Door Protect Plus
Commonly called a Reed Switch in the security industry. 2 slender (lipstick shaped ) units that are attached next to each other on a door frame or window frame. One on the opening door and one on the frame. When the 2 are separated by 2 cm they will trigger the alert. You can use the main part of the Door Protect to protect outdoor property that is under threat of being stolen. More Detail in the next section.
Tilt Switch / Door Protect plus.
Door protect plus has 3 functions. You can install it on the door as per the previous section. Or you can take one of the pieces (specifically the one with the led light in it) and place it on an Outdoor Fridge, BBQ, kayaks, bikes or any other property you want to protect. The switch is triggered and an alert created when that item moves 5 degrees from the position the switch was positioned. It has a 3rd function that can be programmed to detect vibration.
These switches can be placed on any item within 1500 metres of the hub and they will still work.
Note these switches are not waterproof and require a small plastic case to sit in. Attaching to your property can be with Velcro or similar removable fasteners.
Outdoor Siren
These are an attractive unit attached to the exterior of the van although we have seen them attached under the van chassis.
Multiple settings options allow the siren and Led flashing light to perform in several ways. During and alert the Siren can be programmed on or off, different volume levels and different intervals between alert and activation. The LED light should be set to On for all scenarios. We see this as an immediate deterrent to most intruders. You can manually operate the siren from your phone provided you are in mobile phone signal.
Control Fob
Has 4 main functions of which 2 are programmed and you can select what the other 2 functions are. One can be a panic button as a suggestion. The app on your phone is used to arm and disarm the system. The control fob is handy if you do not have use of your mobile phone or it can be used by anyone you give it to for access to arm and disarm only. Note any time someone uses the app or the control fob you will receive a notification ( not an alert ).
Smoke and heat detector.
Works like any in home detector.
